NBFAA Announces Leadership Award Winners
Harvey Eisenstadt Receives 2006 President’s Award
Irving, Texas, April 3, 2006 –The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) announced the recipient of the 2006 President’s Award, Harvey Eisenstadt, who was honored at the NBFAA Awards Luncheon in Las Vegas, Monday, April 3, 2006.
The annual luncheon, held during the NBFAA Spring Conference & Chartered State Association (CSA) Symposium, honors outgoing NBFAA leadership for their guidance, dedication and service to the industry.
NBFAA President Scot Colby bestowed the award on Eisenstadt, who is the Associate Member Representative for the NBFAA Board of Directors – a position he has held for more than three years.
Eisenstadt is also the Associates Director and Convention Chair for the California Alarm Association and has been for more than 25 years.
“Harvey has been a strong advocate for active participation in the national and state associations,” said Scot Colby, NBFAA president. “A mentor to many, his service to the associations and the industry has set a standard of excellence for many to follow.”
Under Eisenstadt’s leadership the NBFAA Associate Membership category has grown to more than 60 member companies – a 200 percent increase from three years ago, Colby said.
A recipient of the CAA George A. Weinstock Award for Lifetime Achievement and Service to the Industry, he also received the CAA Mark Schubert Memorial Award presented by the 10 regional chapters in California.
In addition to the presentation of the President’s Award, the chairman and vice chairman of each NBFAA committee was recognized for service and leadership:

NBFAA also recognized the service of Executive Committee members whose current terms are ending:

Additionally, Stella McDonald, executive director of the Washington Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA), was presented with a Meritorious Service Award for her commitment and dedication to the association. McDonald recently announced her retirement after more than 20 years in the industry.
She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation for four years and ADT Security Systems for 24 years. She started the Eastern Washington Chapter, and in 1997 began her role as the Executive Director of the WBFAA.
She is the first recipient of the award, which was created by the NBFAA Executive Committee to honor her service, said NBFAA Executive Director Merlin Guilbeau.
“Stella has given so much of her time and energy to our industry,” said Guilbeau. “The impact she has made will never be forgotten, and we hope she will accept this award as a token of our appreciation for all that she has done.”
McDonald said she is looking forward to her retirement. “I’ve been very fortunate to have a “semi-retirement” type job where I can also have time to enjoy my wonderful family - six children and ten grandchildren,” she said. “It has been great!”
Outgoing NBFAA president, Scot Colby was also given an award for his dedication to the association, his leadership and insight during the last two years.
President Elect George Gunning said, “Since his taking office, the association has continued to make major strides financially and is stronger today than two years ago.”
Colby thanked everyone for the recognition and said he is looking forward to his new role as immediate past president.
