3rd Annual AIREF/NBFAA Golf Tournament

Las Vegas, Nevada, April 6, 2006 – Industry research benefiting the electronic life safety, security and systems industry was the real winner of the Third Annual Golf Without Guilt tournament sponsored by the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and the Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF). More than 130 golfers participated in the tournament held at the Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas during the NBFAA Spring Conference and Chartered State Association (CSA) Symposium.

“This event is becoming synonymous with ISC West,” said Jamie Orvis, Security Solutions, Inc.“Our industry colleagues want to Golf Without Guilt because they know AIREF’s mission for this event is to raise money for a good cause that will benefit our industry.”

“What a great fundraiser, “said Bart Didden, USA Central Station Alarm Corp. “The course was beautiful and the competition fierce. This year’s participants are already looking forward to next year’s tournament!"

Participants praised the event, the course and the cause.

The AIREF/NBFAA golf tournament, the sole fundraiser for the tax-exempt foundation, grossed more than $160,000, which will benefit research efforts.

AIREF has undertaken two major research studies with the proceeds from the last two tournaments. The first study on The Deterrent Effect of Home Burglar Alarm Systems on Crime and Criminal Behavior is being conducted at the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice. The second study on Guidelines for Managing Burglary Alarm Dispatching is being conducted by the Institute for Law and Justice.
